Celebrate the Holidays

There’s no doubt that a big part of celebrating Christmas is keeping traditions. Everyone has them. Some have a lot while others have only a few. Some traditions are elaborate while others are simple. Some are long-standing while others have just begun. Like the families who keep them, traditions come in all shapes and sizes.

So what happens when two individuals with two different sets of traditions are brought together? It’s a scenario every couple has to face. The process of editing, merging, and creating traditions as a couple can be plagued with long conversations and a lot of negotiating. While starting new traditions together can be fun and exciting, leaving others behind can be problematic and difficult. We often don’t even realize the importance of our traditions until we are faced with the possibility of having to give them up.

On the bright side, relationships are a way to shed some of those less-than-favorite traditions and start some of your own together. Creating new traditions can be a meaningful time for you and your significant other or spouse to work together and establish your own identity for this time of year. I came across this article that shares some creative, fun, and cute traditions that you might want to incorporate into your own holiday season.

What are some of your holiday traditions?
