Baby, It’s Cold Outside

For many, wintertime means cold temperatures. Cold temperatures mean staying inside, bundling up, and drinking hot cocoa. While trying to beat the wintry wonderland outside, why not warm things up with that special someone in your life with these fun and thoughtful activities perfect for this time of year?

  • Ice skating – Regardless of your level of agility on the ice, ice skating is the perfect excuse to grab on tightly to your sweetie. After all, who wants to run the risk of falling? It’s a safety thing.
  • Snuggle by a fire – Of course, not everyone has a fireplace, but if you can find one, then it is a must-do. There are few things that can rival the romantic ambiance of the toasty crackling and warm glow from a fire.
  • Blanket and hot cocoa – I’m all warm and cozy just thinking about this one. Grab a blanket, some hot cocoa, and enjoy some quiet, quality time together. Share stories of your favorite holiday memories, traditions, and foods.
  • Play in the snow – Okay, I know some of you are thinking I am crazy, but hold on for just a second. Don’t you remember being a kid and having a blast in that white, powdery delight called snow? Snow can be a wonderful way to laugh while making snow angels, throwing some snowballs, and then of course, warming up together afterward.
  • Bake Cookies – Pull out your apron and roll up your sleeves for a fun-filled afternoon with some pretty delicious pay-offs. Each of you can bring a family recipe, and you can share some history about yourselves and family while whipping up these yummy treats. If you aren’t kitchen-inclined, you can cheat by buying the pre-made cookie dough, which is pretty fool-proof.

Don’t let the winter weather freeze out some wonderful opportunities for quality time together. In fact, the frigid outdoor conditions are the ideal reason to get a little closer.

Do any of you have any fun winter-time activities to share?
